Pottery/Ceramics: 6 weeks (Thursday)

This six weeks course is an introduction to the ancient and modern craft of Pottery.

The aim of the course is to provide you with basic pottery skills. This is a practical workshop-based course with group and individual demonstrations of a variety of techniques.

What I'll learn

You will explore the properties of clay and learn techniques such as: forming using pinching and coiling techniques, joining techniques, as well as decoration (slip trailing, glazing, on-glaze painting and slip-glazing).

 

How I'll learn

The aim of the course is to provide you with basic pottery skills. This is a practical workshop-based course with group and individual demonstrations of a variety of techniques.

 

How I'll be assessed

There is no formal assessment.

 

Entry Requirements

You will need an open mind, an apron, a notebook and some hand cream.

No experience or qualifications are necessary to attend - just enthusiasm.

You are advised to wear old clothes or bring an overall because working with clay can get messy.
