If you want to make clay items in a social environment, try this session. You learn new techniques while enjoying working with clay.

Please note that this course does not run during the half term/end of term breaks.

What I'll learn

You gain specialist skills in ceramics, designing and making. This is a non-accredited course.

 

How I'll learn

You design and make ceramic pieces through various techniques and processes such as:  

  • throwing
  • slip casting
  • hand-building
  • glaze formulation and application
  • decorating techniques
  • firing

 

How I'll be assessed

There are no formal assessments on this course.

 

Entry Requirements

Some experience of ceramics/pottery would be beneficial but not essential because you work at your own pace and level. Equipment needed for this course is available in our established ceramics workshop, and specialist suppliers of materials will be issued by the tutor should this be required.
