This course is ideal if you have successfully completed the Level 1 programme and want to expand your skills and knowledge.

Pursue a career as a site carpenter or joiner in the construction industry with the Level 2 programme in Joinery. This course is ideal if you have successfully completed the Level 1 programme and want to expand your skills, knowledge and expertise.

What I'll learn

You cover subjects such as handling and storing resources, work relationships, providing working platforms, preparation maintenance and use of woodworking power tools and basic wood jointing techniques. You learn functional skills too.

 

 

How I'll learn

The course blends practical workshop skills and activities with lessons in the classroom. Candidates will develop and build on practical skills and knowledge through a range of units. Functional skills will also form part of the course. 

You are assessed on your practical work and job knowledge and there is an active online learning platform site, so you can view further information and link to interactive activities outside of lessons.

Entry Requirements

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade D or 3-1, or equivalent (including English and maths).

If you are interested in a Level 3 programme and have alternative qualifications you would like us to consider, please contact us to discuss your circumstances. 

Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an internal assessment. All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.
