Get ready for work and take on the professional world with our in-depth courses and business knowledge.  This is a practical, work-related course.  You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations.
You will focus on a particular subject area and develop a range of specialist skills and knowledge.

What I'll learn

The course is made up of 18 units: 4 mandatory units and 14 optional units. The optional units explore topics in more depth.

The four mandatory units are:  

  • The Business Environment  
  • Business resources  
  • Introduction to Marketing  
  • Business Communication

You will also undertake a period of work experience during the course.


How I'll be assessed

This BTEC course is a practical work and business-related course. All units are assessed through written and oral assignments. There are two exams each year. You'll primarily ‘learn by doing’, i.e. completing projects and assignments based on real businesses in the area.


Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade A*-C/9-4, including English language and maths or equivalent vocational qualifications at Merit level or higher.
