Create unique and beautiful pieces of mosaic art for your home!

This course is aimed at beginners but also suitable for those who have done mosaic before. Beginners will start with a small project to familiarise them with the techniques, tools and materials. More experienced students can work on their own project to create unique pieces guidance and support.

The course will concentrate on the ‘direct’ method of mosaic, using MDF as a base for your piece of (indoor) artwork.

You will complete your mosaic design by week 4, allowing time in week 5 to do grouting of your work. You will then be able to take your artwork home.

There will be an additional cost for materials of approx £30.

Following this course, you could enrol onto a five- or ten-week mosaics course, or a one day workshop, which are available throughout the year.

What I'll learn

You will learn about mosaic patterns and design, different adhesives and how to cut the tiles safely using wheel nippers. There will be plenty of discussion and demonstrations throughout the course.

You will have access to many beautiful glass and ceramic tiles and lots of sparkly extras to make your design stand out.

How I'll learn

Teaching methods include:

  • formal instruction
  • discussion
  • individual tuition
