This inspiring Watercolour course, held on Saturdays is suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced artists wishing to build on existing skills.

During this full day you will explore the fluidity, freshness and expressive potential of watercolours. You will be taught how to interpret subjects and express yourself with colour.

Our career pathways show you a typical route through the various stages of learning, what you will learn along the way and the careers these programmes could lead onto.

What I'll learn

You will learn how to create dynamic compositions, expressing shape, form, and perspective using watercolours, leading to independently led works of art.

You will learn colour theory and how to apply it, watercolour techniques including flat washes, variegated washes and wet into wet. Brushwork and a variety of texturing methods will also be covered.

 

How I'll learn

You will learn by practising the techniques learnt on this course, creating your own watercolour masterpiece!

Please bring with you: A pocket set of 12 half pan watercolours, watercolour paper pad ('Cold pressed' or 'NOT' surface, weight 140lb, size 12" X 16"), number 1, 6 and 12 round watercolour brushes, a pencil, putty rubber and a water container.

 

How I'll be assessed

Our learning for leisure courses have no formal assessments, giving you the freedom to learn and enjoy our courses.

 

Entry Requirements

No previous experience is necessary. Basic drawing skills would be helpful, although not essential.

This day runs from 10am-5pm, with a one hour lunch break. Please bring your packed lunch with you.
