Watercolour - Advanced Term 2

Our advanced watercolour course will enable you to extend your knowledge of watercolour techniques to a higher level, developing your own style and working independently on short projects.

Suitable for those with sound prior experience (GCSE, A-Level or Watercolour Intermediate) who wish to build their skills and confidence to develop an individual style. You will be guided and supported through demonstrations and instructions by an experienced tutor.

What I'll learn

Development of drawing and observation skills. Extension of knowledge of colour mixing to a wider palette. Using tone to express light and shade. Implementing resist and texturing techniques into paintings. Improving wet into wet techniques and went on dry washes. Development of own style and discuss, appreciate and learn from own and others' work.

Gain confidence in own ability and in using a range of techniques to explore ideas for personal projects to a higher level. Study of past and present watercolour artists. Working from a personal sketchbook.

 

How I'll learn

You will learn from our expert staff who will provide formal instruction and individual tuition.

 

How I'll be assessed

There are no formal assessments for this course.

 

Entry Requirements

You will need watercolour paint, palette, water jars, 140 lbs watercolour paper, range of brushes, 2B pencil, sketchpad, putty rubber. All materials will be discussed at first meeting.
