This exciting course is for anyone interested in creating a personal journal.

You will experiment with drawing, collage and printmaking techniques; all of which will be brought together into a hand-made sketchbook!  By combining recycled papers together with your own artwork, the result will be a unique personal artist’s sketchbook/ journal that you can take away and continue.

You will leave with a personal hand-made journal/ artist’s sketchbook full of your own produced artwork.

The course will be run by artists Madalyn Taylor and Liz Lake, both of whom teach at Banbury College.

Madalyn has spent her career as an Art tutor at various schools and colleges for over 18 years. She specialises in mixed media work. She has always valued the use of sketchbooks; seeing them as personal journals, where margins are packed with handwriting and the drawings show constant exploration of the given theme. She trained at Birmingham University and Exeter College.

Liz Lake is an artist who works across printmaking, sculpture and installation. She completed her MA from the Royal College of Art in 2013 and has recently had artwork commissioned by Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, Coventry Biennial 2019 and Cardiff University.
