People of all abilities can sketch a live model!

This Life Drawing course is designed to help people of all abilities explore and investigate a variety of sketching, drawing and painting approaches whilst working directly with a life model.

In a relaxed studio atmosphere and expert guidance of our tutor, you will be given the time and space to develop your own practical skills enabling you to make personal progression in creative arts.  

Activate Learning offer a range of part time Drawing and Painting courses and workshop throughout the year as well as full time, daytime vocational courses.

There may be minimal additional costs for materials.

Please note: you will be working on easels and high stools.  

What I'll learn

You will be introduced to a variety of mediums throughout the course including sketching, charcoal and chalk, pen and ink, collage and painting.  

You will be introduced to different life drawing techniques throughout the sessions and the opportunity to explore and develop your own practice in response to exercises designed by your tutor.  A friendly and encouraging atmosphere will enable you to share your ideas and progress with your fellow students through group discussions.  


How I'll learn

You will learn a variety of life drawing techniques and processes through hands on practice in a non-competitive environment.

You will also be introduced to a range of artists, throughout the ages that have produced artwork in this subject area looking at their styles, movements and approaches. 


Entry Requirements

During the term you will need: 

  • Charcoal thin and thick 
  • Fine liner pens black 

Basic materials will be supplied but for the first lesson please bring along a range of pencils 2B to 6B
