This five-week intermediate course is an intensive programme for those who have completed the basic fusing course and are looking for a more in-depth knowledge of fusing. We will cover working with precious metals, alchemy reactions, using different types of glass and looking at what can be achieved with them and a greater understanding of the kiln firing process.

This course will also show you how to make moulds for casting glass and also working with mould-making materials for slumping into various shapes.
We expect you to have basic knowledge and some experience of glass fusing. Glass will be provided.

What I'll learn

During this course we will expand into more advanced skills in glass fusion and kiln work, covering inclusions, alchemy and reactions, open face casting, slumping and the relevant kiln firing schedules. There will be in-depth ongoing discussion.

How I'll learn

You will learn through both practical tutor demonstration.

You will develop and expand your knowledge of glass fusion, enabling you to expand your own work using a wide variety of both techniques and principles.
