These courses are suitable for anyone that wants to enhance their skills and knowledge.

This course is suitable for anyone beyond beginner level who want to enhance their skills and knowledge across a variety of media and themes.

You will be supported through demonstration and instruction by an experienced tutor.

On completion of this course, you may like to continue onto further Art: Intermediate classes or other specialist courses.

What I'll learn

All areas of art could be explored, subject to theme and ability.

  • develop drawing and painting skills 
  • explore a variety of different media
  • improve colour mixing skills and understanding of the use of colour
  • increase skills in the use of perspective
  • study composition, line, tone and texture
  • working from direct observation and photographic starting points
  • topics covered may include still life, figures, animals, plants and landscape


How I'll learn

  • individual tuition

Homework is not formally set but you may like to spend a small amount of time preparing for future lessons by gathering visual information or completing classwork as necessary.


Entry Requirements

Some experience is required as we'll be working on developing existing skills.

Please bring with you any drawing and painting materials owned.

Specific media requirements will be discussed at the start of each project.
