This course is great for people looking to expand their portfolio.

Our portfolio preparation course for over 16’s will help you take your creative skills to the next level while you develop a portfolio for application to further Art and Design studies, including foundation.  

What I'll learn

You will have the opportunity to explore a diverse range of techniques and processes in order to develop a personal portfolio of work.

Drawing is fundamental to Art & Design practice; this course will cover a wide range of different drawing skills including Printmaking, Graphics, Textiles, Drawing on location, 3D Sculpture or Ceramics in order to ensure that you will have a broad range of work at the end of the course, enabling you to apply for further education courses with confidence. Classes are run with a low ratio of staff to students, which allows for in-depth learning and personalized development.

 

How I'll learn

You'll develop a body of artwork, which can be used towards a portfolio for art college applications.

Your tutor will give you advice on how to present your portfolio as well as on interview techniques, your personal statement and references required. These are all important components of your further Art and Design studies and beyond.

The course will be run by artist and curator Asma Mahmud Hashmi. Asma has been studying Fine Art at the National College of Arts Lahore, She was trained in the traditional printmaking techniques and expanded her skills at the University of Hawaii for MFA.

Half an hour lunch is included. Please bring a packed lunch and/ or other refreshments.

 

Entry Requirements

A passion for Art and Design and a willingness to have a go!

Basic materials will be covered. You will need to bring in a sketchbook
