This is an introductory course suitable for complete beginners or those who have not drawn since school. We'll help with the technique, you just bring your enthusiasm!
An experienced and friendly tutor will guide you through the basic elements of drawing, composition and perspective.
All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and willingness to learn!
On completion of this course, you may like to do further Art: Beginners, Art: Mixed Ability, or Art: Intermediate courses.
What I'll learn
You will practise drawing from observation with pencil, charcoal and ink and learn the following basic drawing skills:
- measuring scale and proportion
- 1- and 2-point perspective
You will walk away with confidence in your ability to draw!

- individual tuition
Homework is not formally set but you may like to spend a small amount of time preparing for future lessons by gathering visual information or completing classwork as necessary.
Please bring a B–6B sketching pencils, an A4 sketchbook, a charcoal and putty-kneaded eraser, dip pen and black drawing ink.
