The Access to HE: Health Professions Level 3 Diploma programme is one year in duration. Upon successful completion you will be awarded a diploma that will gain you entry to degree level study at a choice of most UK universities.

What I'll learn

This is an intensive course covering modules including professional healthcare practice, psychology, human biolog and human physiology.

There is also a toolkit/study skills module. The course is designed for adult learners who have the relevant work experience but lack the academic qualifications to progress to university.

How I'll learn

The course is modular and is taught through a combination of lectures group work and independent learning activities.

The main aim of this course is to prepare students for study at university. Students will receive subject specific study skills preparation, as well as tuition in subjects that are relevant to their chosen degree course.

Once awarded the Access to HE Diploma, students will be able to start a university degree, provided they have met the entrance criteria for their chosen universities.

How I'll be assessed

Assessment is via a combination of exams (approximately 30%) and coursework (approximately 70%).

Entry Requirements

If you’re aged 19 or over, live in England and are thinking about further education or training, you might qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. It’s easy to apply for and you won’t have to pay anything back until you’re earning over £25,000 a year.

What are Advanced Learner Loans?
The government introduced Advanced Learner Loans to help adult learners manage the costs of further education and training in England.
These loans cover tuition fees for a range of Level 3 to Level 6 courses including:

  • A-levels.
  • General and vocational qualifications.
  • Access to Higher Education diplomas.

Advanced Learner Loans are only available for study at a training provider or college in England.
Previously these loans were known as 24+ Advanced Leaner Loans, but due to the age at which you’re eligible changing, the name was changed. So, if you couldn’t get a loan previously because you were too young, now you might be able to.
