Full Time GCSE (Science)

Print Page

Our GCSE Full Time programme is aimed at those who have achieved below the required number of GCSE grades at C or above and therefore have not been able to progress to Level 3.

We recruit a range of students, including those who have missed out on their GCSEs. If you are keen to improve your GCSE grades so you can move into further education, this programme is for you.

Our career pathways show you a typical route through the various stages of learning, what you will learn along the way and the careers these programmes could lead onto.

What I'll learn

You will be studying an intensive one year programme that consists of the following GCSEs

  • Double Science
  • Maths
  • English
  • Sociology

How I'll learn

You will study using a range of techniques including group work, independent study, research, practical activities and homework.

We expect our students to be fully committed to their studies and attend all timetabled lessons, talks, tutorials and workshops. In addition, students can expect to attend trips and visits according to the needs of the individual subjects. You will also have a weekly tutorial. There are many enrichment opportunities.

How I'll be assessed

Assessment is both internal - within the college - and by external exam.

Entry Requirements

All learners will be invited for an initial assessment and offers will be made on the basis of initial assessment results.

If you haven't taken your GCSEs, we can still use the initial assessment as an indicator of your suitability for the course.
