What I'll learn

You will improve the wider skills vital for success in further study or employment including self-confidence speaking in front of others working with others taking responsibility and managing your time. By the end of your A-level course you will have benefited from a valuable insight into future careers open to you.

Along with your A-levels, you will have the opportunity to attend an IT course that will help you to develop these essential skills. Advanced Study Skills classes to help you develop your writing and thinking skills and Enrichment opportunities (e.g. residential trips clubs and activities). There will also be Extra study support sessions (if appropriate).  

 

How I'll learn

You will learn in a variety of ways typically through discussion group work independent study traditional essays reading and research tasks. There will be a balance of challenge and support. You will play an active part in your learning and there will be a strong focus on your individual learning needs.

Classes will take place over four days a week between 9am and 5pm. We expect you to be fully committed to your studies and attend all timetabled sessions. In addition you will have the opportunity to attend trips and visits according to the needs of individual subjects. There are many enrichment opportunities which will enable you to extend your learning beyond the bounds of your chosen subjects.

 

How I'll be assessed

Formal assessment is through examinations and (in some subjects) through coursework. The examination periods are in May/ June. There will be a range of regular assignments, essays and class-based assessments to help you develop your study skills for the next educational step. Individual learning targets are set each term and you will receive regular feedback on your progress in meeting these targets.

With 3 A-levels the possibilities are endless you can progress to higher education to study a variety of different subjects at Degree level. A-levels also offer a high standard of education which many employers require as part of their entry criteria onto

 

Entry Requirements

Achievement of the necessary GCSE points taken from best seven subjects: 35 points for a 3 A-levels programme 39 points for a 4 A-levels programme. Specific subject requirements may also apply.

If you qualify for Concessionary Fees these are recorded against each individual A-level. You will pay the Concessionary Fees applicable for each A-level you study. Additional fees for materials and exams may apply depending on the subjects selected.
