Covid 19 at Banbury and Bicester College

Coronavirus update - confirmed case of COVID-19 at Banbury and Bicester College

Last updated 18 December 2020

We want to ensure that everyone at Banbury and Bicester College is being kept updated as we manage the return of students back to campus during these uncertain times.

We feel it is important to be transparent and keep you informed when we have positive Covid cases at college, even though we appreciate that this may cause some anxiety.

Please be advised that this update is to keep you informed of what is happening and you do not need to take any further action or self-isolate.

Today we were informed that a student has tested positive for COVID-19 at Banbury and Bicester College.

The situation has been carefully dealt with and all areas the student visited have been disinfected and sanitised. We have spoken to the people who had contact with the student and advised them on what they need to do.

We know some of you may feel unsure or anxious to hear this news, but we’d like to reassure you that your safety and wellbeing is our top priority.

Following advice from Public Health England, we can confirm your teaching and learning will not be affected by this and timetabled lessons will go ahead as planned and are safe to do so. Please continue to attend all of your lessons at college as normal.

The college undergoes cleaning on a regular basis using electrostatic spraying methods and our cleaning staff are regularly disinfecting and sanitising high footfall areas throughout the day to keep you safe.

If anyone has questions or concerns, please email or contact the Activate Learning Group Safeguarding and Student Support team on 01865 550 401 between 8.30am and 5pm on weekdays.
