Students and staff in CIPTA College of Oxford in Batam, Indonesia, celebrated their partnership with City of Oxford College this week.
CIPTA and City of Oxford College have been in collaboration since 2014, when CIPTA College was still being built in Batam. Director of City of Oxford College, Francis Lawson, visited Batam for the first time since 2015 to explore the linked learning philosophies of the two colleges.
Students in Batam study a wide range of programmes, including Hospitality Services and Operations, Business and Management, 3D Animation and Video Editing, Graphic and Interior Design, and General Construction. Students talked about what they had learned from their courses, identifying independence and leadership skills as most important. Like us in the UK, they are proud of this relationship between colleges and the opportunity it gives us to gain an insight into another part of the world.
