The Activate Learning Group Services IT team has been nominated for a prestigious local 'Investors in Education' award.
The award, now in its fifteenth year, is presented annually to business organisations in Oxfordshire which best support local schools. The Group Services IT team has been nominated for offering a group of Gosford Hill School students a work experience placement with the Group IT Service Desk.
During their time at Activate Learning, students from the Kidlington school were mentored on a one to one basis by a Service Desk Analyst. Mentors provided support and helped students gain an understanding of relevant processes and procedures. They also had the opportunity to boost a number of core employability skills, such as taking ownership of issues and demonstrating customer empathy.
Kim Blanchard, Group IT Service Desk Team Leader, said: "The students were a delight to work with and represented Gosford Hill School brilliantly. They were polite, well mannered, professional and keen to learn. It was a pleasure to have them as part of our team for the week."
The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Minster Lovell on Friday 30 June.
